IRI founded Società Finanziaria Siderurgica (Finsider) to improve the management of ILVA’s financial and economic assets and those of its subsidiaries and branches.

Construction of a new steelworks in Taranto, a cold rolling mill in Novi Ligure and the renewal of the Bagnoli plant.

1961

Fusion ILVA + Cornigliano (Genova)

1988

Cornigliano steelworks sold to Cogea, of which Riva Group would buy the majority stake soon after.

the Group also acquires ILVA
