MM. Ulrich, N. Metz, Aug. Dutreux et Wirtz, se sont transportés la semaine dernière à Differdange, pour examiner un appareil de chauffage, inventé par M. de Prémorel et destiné la combustion du schiste bitumineux, qui se trouve en grande abondance dans diverses localités du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg.

L'intention des fondateurs de la présente société et de M. et Mme de Premorel était de comprendre dans l'apport de ceux-ci toutes les propriétés qu'ils possèdent sur le ban de la commune de Differdange, à l'exception du bois de Lasauvage; il est entendu que les dits apportants ne doivent aucune garantie du chef des contenances indiquées au tableau qui précède, la différence entre ces contenances et les contenances réelles dépassât-elle le vingtième.

Die Abtei von Differdingen wurde 1235 von Herrn Alexander von Soleuvre gegründet, der eine Stiftung an den Zisterzienserorden machte, um dort eine Kirche und Abtei zu bauen. Noch heute kennt man sie als Abtei „Fontaine Marie".

Der barocke Flügel, in welchem sich der frühere Haupteingang befand, wurde 1730 von der Äbtissin von Gourcy in Bau gegeben.

Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte war der Orden manchen Verfolgungen ausgesetzt, hielt sich aber dennoch, sogar über das Ende der französischen Revolution hinaus. Erst am 27. Oktober 1796 wurde der Orden auf Anordnung der Gemeinde hin definitiv geschlossen.

Am 10.04.1797 wurde die Abtei öffentlich versteigert, ein Schicksal, das sie in den folgenden Jahrzehnten noch sieben weitere Male erleiden sollte, bis sie schließlich 1929 von der Gemeinde Differdingen erworben wurde. Diese errichtete darin ein Krankenhaus, genannt „Hospice Civil".

Bis 1956 führte der Orden der Franziskanerinnen das Krankenhaus.

Zwischen 1950 und 1954 erfuhr der zentrale Teil des Gebäudes eine Vergrößerung und 1960 wurde als Anbau die Geburtenklinik eröffnet.

Am 10. Juli 1981 übernahm der Staat das Krankenhaus und machte daraus 1982 ein staatliches Pflegeheim.

Am 1. Januar 1999 wurde das Pflegeheim Bestandteil des établissement public „Centres de Gériatrie" und gehört seit dem 1. Januar 2001 zu SERVIOR.
