| 11.1989 | Fondation - Gründung International Electronics & Engineering S.à r.l. joint-venture entre la société américaine Interlink Electronics (Camarillo, CA / USA) et InvestAR s.àr.l. |

| 1990 | Mise à disposition de l’ancien bâtiment administratif de la Monsanto à Echternach par le ministère de l’Economie | ||
| Après des débuts laborieux, l’entreprise a démarré en 1992 le développement d’un capteur sachant détecter l’occupation du siège passager d’une voiture, afin de ne pas activer inutilement l’airbag passager; il s’agit du Passanger Presence Detector. | |||
| 1994 | Finalement, la production industrielle de ce capteur a commencé en
1994, grâce notamment aux interventions de l’Etat au niveau
du capital et des infrastructures.
Au cours de cette même année, les participations croisées de Interlink USA dans l’IEE et vice-versa ont été rétrocédées et le capital de la société est depuis lors détenu à 100% par InvestAR. |

dans la raison sociale, l’IEE s’appelle depuis juillet 1995 "International
Electronics and Engineering", dénomination qui a permis de
maintenir l’acronyme IEE, bien connu sur le marché.
Après le démarrage de la production industrielle, le besoin de nouvel espace s’est fait rapidement ressentir et l’entreprise a pris location de l’ancien bâtiment de l’entreprise Computerland à l’aéroport. Ce bâtiment appartient à l’Etat par l’intermédiaire de la SNCI. |
